Chapter 4: Idiot, What Can She Compete With?
by AdminChapter 4: Idiot, What Can She Compete With?
Everyone’s gaze instantly focused on Yun Ci.
She was seen resting her chin on her hand, her finger boredly drawing circles on the table. Hearing Ruan Feiyue’s question, she answered leisurely: “That’s a wrong question. None of the four options are correct.”
Ruan Feiyue burst into laughter: “Ah Ci, this math paper was personally prepared by the national mathematics master An Linsong. How could it be wrong?”
Everyone knew in their hearts that Yun Ci definitely didn’t know the answer and was afraid of losing face, so she was talking nonsense.
Even the servants nearby showed more disdain in their eyes.
As expected from someone who grew up in the countryside – not only stupid but also full of lies. She couldn’t even compare to Miss Feiyue’s little finger.
They didn’t know why the madam insisted on bringing her back.
Ruan Feiyue sneered inwardly.
What an idiot indeed. What could she possibly compete with?
Ruan Bingde’s expression was stern: “Ah Ci, no matter what you were like before, since you’re home now, I’ll arrange for you to attend the best Lance Middle School. You must study hard from now on.”
Yun Ci kept her head down and only gave a faint “mm” in response.
Back in her room, her phone suddenly rang. As soon as Yun Ci answered, an old, wailing voice came from the other end: “Little Ci Ci, I’m doomed! I actually made an error in one question on this month’s math exam paper, wuu wuu wuu…”
Yun Ci laughed coldly and mercilessly: “So you old man are only realizing this now?”
“I’m getting old, my brain isn’t working well anymore. I asked you to help me prepare questions together, but you weren’t willing.”
An Linsong complained resentfully, not sounding like a proper old man at all.
“Next time.”
Yun Ci brushed him off with one sentence and hung up the phone.
The next day, she got up early and came to outside Ruan Feiyue’s bedroom, knocking on the door.
When Ruan Feiyue opened the door and saw her, her expression immediately darkened as she asked impatiently: “What do you want?”
Yun Ci said expressionlessly: “Want to go out together?”
Ruan Feiyue showed a suspicious look: “Where to?”
“Mom’s grave. She wants to see you.”
Yun Ci had been raised by her mother alone since childhood.
When they learned Yun Ci had been switched at birth, her mother was already terminally ill. Before dying, she always wanted to see her biological daughter.
Ruan Feiyue frowned, feeling confused: “What mom are you talking about?”
“By blood, your biological mother.” Yun Ci spoke word by word, clearly and distinctly.
This sentence was like suddenly stepping on Ruan Feiyue’s sore spot. She immediately became furious from embarrassment: “I don’t have that kind of countryside mom! Stop talking nonsense!”
Even if she wasn’t biological, she would forever be the Ruan family’s heiress. No one could change that. She didn’t want to have any connection with such a poor, remote place!
Yun Ci narrowed her eyes slightly and smiled contemptuously: “Right, you don’t deserve to have one either.”
After saying this, she turned and left.
Ruan Feiyue was furious and slammed the door shut with a bang.
Taking a car to the suburban cemetery, Yun Ci placed down the bouquet and slowly caressed the photo on the tombstone. Her usually cold eyes finally showed a hint of tenderness.
“Mom, I’ll listen to you and stay properly with the Ruan family. Please rest assured.”
Although life in the countryside was poor, from childhood to adulthood, her mother had never treated her poorly.
She would never forget the kindness of being raised.
Leaving the cemetery, Yun Ci took a car to the city center, walked into a secluded alley, pushed open a rusty iron gate, and skillfully climbed to the third floor, using her toe to kick the apartment’s security door.
Soon, the door opened and a figure appeared before her eyes.
The man was handsome, wearing casual home clothes with rolled-up sleeves. He had a narrow waist and long legs with an upright posture. The smile at the corner of his mouth was refined, naturally scholarly, and he was even wearing a pink apron.
He leaned lazily against the doorframe: “Yo, finally here? I’ve been waiting for you half the day.”
